Top 10 Creative Bathroom Storage Ideas

10 Bathroom Storage Ideas

Are staring to remodel your bathroom? Then, you’ll surely need these bathroom storage ideas before getting started with your bathroom project.

When planning your fantastic brand new bathroom, you know that there is a lot to consider.  From the bathroom suite to the tiles, the bathroom fittings to the lighting and then of course, there’s the storage.  Family bathrooms need more storage than master bedroom en-suites because they are used for all the family so bear this in mind when planning your renovation.  En-suite bathrooms or small individual shower rooms still need storage, but perhaps not as much as the family bathroom.  Of course, some have limited spaces, but that doesn’t mean that storage has to be compromised and every bathroom needs an amount of storage to keep toiletries tidied away beautifully.

Clever use of your space can give you storage where you least expected it!  Let Bella Vista talk you through the different creative bathroom storage ideas available to give you some guidance for your bathroom transformation.  Bella Vista has plenty of further ideas and some stunning modern vanity units too, which are perfect for every bathroom, regardless of size.

Check out the following bathroom storage ideas to get you started with your bathroom renovation project!

  1. Think about what you are going to use your bathroom for. It might be obvious but for example, if you plan on putting on your make-up in your bathroom rather than in front of a dressing table then it might be a good idea to select a vanity unit with small drawers too so you can keep smaller items easily accessible.
  2. If you have stud walls and there is space in between, consider getting shelving built – this is a great example of when space is wasted so make us of it and store away toiletries, towels and linens.
  3. If your bathroom lacks space, use corners and fit corner shelving. You can have a number of shelves all placed equidistant so they are neat and uniform.  Glass shelving reflects the light but solid wood or faux painted wood looks just as good – if you are using painted shelves make sure the paint you use is resistant to damp environments.
  4. Shelving works in large bathrooms too and the beauty of a big space means you can have longer shelves! Floating shelves are gorgeous for ornamental objects such as a pretty vase or an ornate pot so use shelves decoratively as well as an added storage solution.
  5. Little storage accessories not only look great but double up as storage solutions. Somewhere to place your toothbrush, a pot for cotton wool, a basket for attractively coloured hand towels for your guest cloakroom, there are so many ideas out there.  Decide on the material that works with your style, for example, shiny chrome for a modern, sleek bathroom, wicker or porcelain for a traditional room, ceramic or wood for something more rustic – pretty storage accessories often are the finishing touches that also bring your own individual personality into the bathroom.
  6. If you have room then put a tallboy storage unit adjacent to a corner, these are excellent free standing storage solutions meaning you don’t have to do any extra building work.
  7. Of course, if you are tight on space and can’t even add a vanity unit consider building a small drawer into the side of a sink worktop – use this to store away extras such as cotton wool pads, tissues, contact lenses, moisturisers or other bits and pieces.
  8. One of the good bathroom storage ideas which doubles up as storage is to fix fittings such as toothbrush holders to the wall – store away your toothpaste and his ‘n’ hers toothbrushes so you have more room on top of your sink.
  9. Use your shower and bath area for storage. Build shelves into the corners to house your shampoos and shower gels to stop them cluttering up the rim of the bath.
  10. If you have nowhere to place a towel rail, why not prop up a ladder against the wall and fix it securely perhaps next to the toilet? You can paint it to match your bathroom (in a moisture resistant paint). Hang a couple of towels on it and keep an up to date copy of your favourite magazine for some bath-time reading!
